Dr Tony with the mobile hoof trimming crush
Ironmines Veterinary Clinic has a specially designed foot crush that can be brought to your farm to help us lift up cow’s feet. Cattle can become lame from problems in their feet which develop into long term changes in the bones beneath the hoof and pain. This in turn causes a reduction in production.
Dr Tony performing a routine hoof trim
To prevent cattle becoming clinically lame, we can also provide preventive hoof trimming. By promoting proper load bearing on the hoof wall and detecting lesions early, we can ensure cows are more comfortable and happy cows produce more milk. Routine hoof trimming is an investment in long term health of the cow’s feet.
